It is that time of year again when we turn the corner into the latter part of the year. Evenings draw in and the temperatures drop, but that doesnıt mean there is less going on in our trade.
In fact the opposite is the case. As we write the Christmas preparations are getting into full swing. Around the country the seasonal colours reds, golds and greens are out in force along with some variations on the classic theme as usual.
As one commentator remarked to us, 'Christmas will always happen'. Whether it goes any way towards making up ground in a very difficult trading year is another question and this will remain unanswered for another while yet.
There is certainly plenty of activity. One of the themes, we believe, will be 'Christmas at Home' with an emphasis on traditions and traditional values.
Meanwhile there is a serious buzz developing with regard to the early part of next year. This is because there are a number of events coinciding around that time. First there is the Hardware/DIY, Home, Garden Show at Citywest.
There is also the IHBMA Presidentıs Ball to look forward to and this takes place at the same venue.
Apart from that, as we see in our news section and also in IHBMA news, there are a number of seminars, meetings and workshops being organised around the Trade Fair.
This indeed gives us a lot to look forward to!
